Angelo's at the New Inn in Milford
Angelo's is a real treat and they serve high quality Italian, French and English dishes in their Milford restaurant all freshly cooked to order.
Meal to try at Angelo's: Spigola Al Vino Bianco, Fillets of sea bass with cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, garlic, white wine and asparagus tips
How much for Sunday lunch?: 1 Course - £8.95 2 Course - £12.50 3 Course - £14.95
The White Hart Duffield offers quite a range. With pie and pudding Tuesdays, a Wednesday steak menu, pizza menu and Sunday menu in addition to the regular menu, most of your bases are pretty much covered!
Meal to try at the White Hart Duffield: 8oz heart of rump steak, peppercorn sauce, grilled field mushroom, slow roasted plum tomatoes, crisp beer battered onion rings & sumo chips, £17.70 but it's a monster meal!
How much for a Sunday dinner? Various prices but Roast forerib of beef, seasonal vegetables, mashed and roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding will cost you £12.50
You'll find the Mill House Milford on the A6 by a very picturesque setting by the banks of the Derwent. Offers hearty pub grub and a fair selection of desserts
Meal to try at the White Hart Duffield: Steak and Bombardier Ale pie, tender pieces of beef in a rich Bombardier Ale gravy served with peas, mash and gravy and it's also on the two for £10 deal
On a budget: They run 2 meals for £10 on selected meals every day or the lunch club offers 2 courses and a drink for £5.49
How much for a Sunday dinner? It's £1.25 extra per person for a Sunday lunch on the £10 deal so £6.25 each.
The Bear Inn at Alderwasley approximately half-way between Belper and Wirksworth prides itself on serving fresh Derbyshire produce and they buy their beef, lamb and pork from local butcher Owen Taylor at Leasbrook, serving classic hearty pub food such as sausage and mash, traditional roast beef dinner with all the trimmings and 5,8 and 10oz steaks, but there are also seafood and vegetarian items on the menu.
They've also recently won a trip advisor award of excellence.
Meal to try at the Bear, Alderwasley: Slow cooked lamb in Rosemary red wine and tomato sauce, served with mash and vegetables £10.95
The Bluebell County Inn, Farnah Green
You'll find the Bluebell Country Inn in Farnah Green inbetween Hazlewood and Blackbrook and it a sister inn to the Bear Inn.
As well as the typical pub menu though you can also get a curry, fish and chips and Thai fishcakes with chilli & lemongrass and sweet chilli sauce, so there is a good choice to be had.
Meal to try at the Bluebell: The Bluebell's Steak & BlueBear Ale Pie, Handcut Chips & Gravy
On a budget?: They currently have a deal on their website for 2 Sunday Lunch courses for £12.95 with 10% off with their web advert.
The Hanging Gate is on the A517 just past Blackbrook, this vintage inn pub serves seasonal food and offers a fixed price menu and a more extensive main food menu.
The fixed price menu is from Monday to Saturday until 5pm and offers 1 course for £6, 2 courses for £8 or 3 courses for £10. They also offer a children's menu.
One to try at the Hanging gate: Wild Scottish Venison Steak Garni, two 4oz venison steaks, served with roasted flat mushroom, plum tomato, caramelised onion gravy and steak cut chips £16.45
On a budget?: Get there early and try the fixed price menu!
The Headmasters office, Kilburn
Formerly known the Cricketers the Headmasters Office has been refurbished by Ray and Jo Michelson and Greene King.
Like many pubs in the area, providing a good dining experience has been at the forefront of reinvigorating the pubs reputation.
You can expect unusual items on the menu like pork fillet medallions with quince and cider cream and a haggis and black pudding tower.
Meal to try at the Headmasters Office: Grilled trout from the starters menu and chicken and coconut for main course.
The Spotted Cow at Holbrook has a very popular carvery, and a seasonal menu.
Starters are from £4.95 with the main courses from £6.95 and desserts from £4.95. Specials on offer include pork medallions with black pudding & wild mushroom sauce and seabass with roasted tomatoes and balsamic & pesto dressing
Meal to try at the Spotted Cow: The Sunday Carvery which is open from 12 til 8pm
One to look out for: The re-opening of the Bulls Head on Belper Lane. They are reopening the pub and have said on Twitter that they are sourcing local suppliers.
