A BRILLIANT performance by Swarkestone all-rounder Alex Hughes has put him out in front in the Premier League Player of the Year standings.

Hughes took four wickets and scored 69 not out as his side beat Spondon on Saturday to stay on top of the Beechwood Derbyshire Premier League title race.

Dunstall all-rounder Karl Turner moved to joint third place in the standings, alongside team-mate Craig Jennings, while Paul Borrington's century for Ticknall moved him alongside those with share of fourth place.

THE County League bowler of the week is Rich Leam, who took a remarkable 8-4 in 10 overs as Swanwick Hall seconds bowled out Sawley fourths for an embarrassing 21.

Batsman of the week is Steven Muskett, who hit 165 not out for Duffield seconds against South Wingfield seconds in Division 5N.
