It's now only a few days until Jubilee parties get into full swing in Belper and with a bit of luck the great British summer will hold out for the fantastic events that are planned in the town.

If your planning a Jubilee party or even if you just want to relax we've got some suggestions for a few businesses in Belper to visit.

Party Supplies, Jubilee Bunting and Flags

Our best suggestion for Jubilee party supplies would be Belper Party & Cakes on Bridge Street.

They are selling Union Jack Cake for £20 and have a full range of Union Jack bunting, paper plates, flags and balloons, and if you want a flag for your car you can also visit Fleur Florists who are selling car flags for £1.99,

Jubilee gifts & commemorative items

If your looking for some commemorative items to celebrate the historic occasion, you could try Frearsons on Bridge Street, they are selling Royal Crown Derby plates to celebrate the jubilee and if your looking for something a bit smaller you could try Kalico who have a few items left, but hurry as they were selling out of items fast.

Food supplies

If your searching for Jubilee food supplies, then Belper has some great options, Fresh Basil is a very highly rated delicatessen and you could toast the Queen with a pint of Strutt Street Bitter or treat the street to some fantastic Belper Pudding.

The Strutt Street Bakery has loafs from the Loaf ltd of Crich and you could get cakes from an old Belper favourites Birds in King Street.

If the weather holds and you are planning a Jubilee barbeque you are your spoilt for choice, many Belper people swear by G.O Coopers burgers, or you could visit Howarths who do fantastic pork pies and a little further afield in Duffield Andrew Coates and Croots Farm shop are always worth a visit

Drinks to toast the Queen

Normally we would be singing the praises of one of our favourite shops in Belper Liquid Treasure, unfortunately the owner is on holiday during the Jubilee break, so as well as the aforementioned Strutt Street Beer from Fresh Basil you could also try Bargain Booze, the Co-op in Strutt Street or Morrisons for your Jubilee drinking needs.

Brollies & wet weather gear

Unfortunately you can never trust the British summer, just in case the heavens open over the Jubilee weekend and the Queen is long to rain over us, you could visit Yeomans Outdoor supplies who currently have a closing down sale to pick up wet weather gear or camping/picnic supplies, or Boots to pick up an umbrella!

Pubs and cafes

Of if you fancy kicking back and just enjoying the celebrations and let someone else worry about the cooking and washing, you could try enjoying the festivities in some of Belper's many pubs and cafes.

The Black Swan are holding a beer and food festival on Saturday as are the Cross Keys and the Bulls head at Belper Lane End are holding a charity BBQ, or you could watch the festivities in Belper's Memorial Gardens from Fresh Ground (who have an exceptional jubilee display!) or from the Green House Pub.

At the Lion Hotel, the Belper Short Play festival will have many productions on all over the weekend, and you could enjoy food and drink at Pub Twenty-Four or you can take in a special Royal film at the Belper Ritz  "A Royal Occasion" at 3.30pm on Saturday.
