Great Sunday Lunch

Had a great Sunday Lunch at the Lion in the Arkwright Suite for a friends birthday. Three courses for £13.95 Started with Ciabtta and Salmon pate, followed by Roast Loin of Pork with apple sauce and stuffing and finishing with chocolate tart. Although as always, wish I'd ordered a little differently the Leek and potato soup with black pepper crème fraiche looked great as did the Roast Derbyshire Beef, horseradish sauce and Yorkshire pudding Unfortunately couldn't wash it down with a Lion Hotel Roar Ale as it was off so had to settle for a Guinness. My favourite item on the menu was the Chocolate Tart which had a rich deep cocoa taste. Gorgeous. You can also order 1 course for £8.95 and 2 courses for £10.95

    Good value hotel in Belper

       

    I stayed at the Lion Hotel last month as part of a Wedding party and was very happy with the stay, very friendly and informative staff who were happy to book taxis for us, the room was spot on and very tidy and comfortable and good value for money. Unfortunately only stayed overnight so didn't have time to taste any of the food in Pub 24. I'd highly recommend it as a place to stay in Belper.
