    Parents across the county will hear about their child's secondary school place this week and Derbyshire County Council says that for the majority of families it is good news.     Summer 2012 school league tables have been published.
    School league tables of last Summer's A' Level and GCSE results have been released today and many Derbyshire schools are celebrating after pupils did extremely well. Half of pupils (50%) at Belper School achieved at least five A% to C grades, including English and Maths, at GCSE last year while pupils at Ecclesbourne School in Duffield did extremely well with 82% achieving five A* to C grades.     Parents of children born between 1st September 2008 and 31st August 2009, need to apply now for their child's infant or primary school place. They can apply online at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/admissions from 12th November 2012. Applying online is quicker and easier and allows parents to make changes to their application at any point up to the closing date.     Secondary school applications are open from Monday the 10th of September 2012 to midnight on Wednesday the 31st of October.
    Parents of year six pupils will be able to apply to Derbyshire County Council from next week to get their child's secondary school place for September 2013.
